A Cello Journey: From Vienna to Bali

Bali has long been a meeting point of cultures, where artistry, tradition, and creativity intertwine. This October, Padma Resort Legian elevates the island’s cultural stage with a performance that bridges continents, A Cello Journey: From Vienna to Bali. On Sunday, October 19, 2025, the Plumeria Grand Ballroom will transform into a sanctuary of sound. Austrian rising star Ania Druml, Indonesian cellist Bryant Gozali, and pianist Carla Suharto come together in a rare collaboration that embodies the true spirit of cultural exchange.

The Artists

Ania Druml has been called one of Austria’s most promising “shooting stars”, praised for her warm tone and emotive playing. With performances spanning Europe, the United States, and Asia, her presence in Bali brings a touch of Vienna’s musical grandeur.

Bryant Gozali, Co-Principal of the Jakarta Simfonia Orchestra and an alumnus of Cleveland Institute of Music and UCLA, represents Indonesia’s new generation of virtuosos. His deep commitment to chamber music makes him the perfect bridge between tradition and innovation.

Carla Suharto completes the trio. Trained in Germany and decorated with international awards, she is known for her versatile artistry and dedication to mentoring young Indonesian musicians. Her mastery of the piano brings elegance and balance to the ensemble.

The Experience

The evening unfolds in two acts, Dialogues from Vienna to Bali and Echoes Beyond Borders. Expect timeless classics from Bach, Beethoven, and Schubert, reimagined duets from Shostakovich and Menotti, and even a contemporary twist with AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” in true 2Cellos style. From the haunting beauty of Bengawan Solo to a medley from The Sound of Music, the program promises a journey through centuries, genres, and emotions.

Guests can arrive early, with the bar and food concessions opening at 5 PM, before the first notes begin at 7 PM. It will be a night where music becomes more than performance, it becomes storytelling across borders.
