COMO Journey: Through Her Eyes - A Celebration of Art, Storytelling, and Creative Expression
Exploring the soulful power of women’s artistry in the cultural heart of Ubud.
Desi Utami

COMO Uma Ubud invites guests to step into a world of artistry and emotion through COMO Journey: Through Her Eyes, a month-long celebration of creativity, culture, and connection. This special edition of COMO’s cultural program transforms the resort into a living gallery that honors the voices, stories, and imaginations of Balinese women artists.
Four exceptional artists — Ayu Sri Rejeki, Eni Astriani, Kartika Sudibia, and Kendisan — lead guests on a journey through their inner worlds. Each brings a unique perspective shaped by love, memory, and identity, presented through exhibitions, conversations, and interactive workshops.
“This exhibition reflects our commitment to creating meaningful cultural connections for our guests,” shares Gede Suteja, General Manager of COMO Uma Ubud. “Ubud has long been a sanctuary for the arts, and we are proud to offer a platform that amplifies the voices of women artists in such an inspiring way.”
The Opening Experience: COMO Conversation - The Art of Becoming
The journey begins with COMO Conversation, an evening of dialogue and discovery at Kemiri Restaurant on December 1st 2025 at 3.00pm, COMO Uma Ubud’s serene open-air dining space beside a natural stream and shaded banyan trees.
Moderated by a local curator, the session brings together the four artists in a panel that explores how art becomes a lifeline, weaving stories of vulnerability, insight, and transformation. Guests are invited to reflect on themes of identity, symbolism, and creative renewal. The evening concludes with a private exhibition preview and curated canapés, priced at IDR 250,000++ per person inclusive of welcome drink and canapés.
A Weekend of Creation
Across Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday in December, guests are invited to explore their own creative voice through daily art workshops led by the featured artists. These two-hour sessions include:
- Sculpting with Ayu Sri Rejeki
- Naïve Painting with Kartika Sudibia
- Charcoal Drawing with Kendisan
- Canvas Bag Painting with Eni Astriani
Each class is designed to encourage emotional honesty and self-expression through tactile and symbolic art forms. Workshops are open to all levels and available through the end of the exhibition at IDR 600,000++ per person per session.
“Art is a language of truth and transformation,” shares Kartika Sudibia. “This weekend is not only about showcasing our work, but about sharing who we are and inviting others to do the same through creativity.”

The Exhibition: Through Her Eyes
Displayed throughout the Yoga Studio and Uma Bar, the exhibition showcases a collection of evocative sculptures and abstract paintings that capture the artists’ journeys of emotion and empowerment. Each piece invites quiet reflection and personal connection, allowing guests to see the world through a deeply personal lens. All artworks are available for purchase, giving visitors the rare chance to bring home a piece of this transformative journey.
Meet the Artists
Ayu Sri Rejeki
A sculptor who found her calling during the stillness of the pandemic, Ayu transforms emotion into form. Her clay works are intimate reflections of love, grief, and rebirth.
Eni Astriani
A painter from Jembrana, Eni infuses her canvas with symbolic owl figures drawn from Balinese spirituality. Her use of color and anthropomorphism reveals a playful yet profound depth.
Kartika Sudibia
Once trained in chemical engineering, Kartika now channels her analytical mind into art that explores emotion and energy through a feminine perspective.
Kendisan
A multidisciplinary artist with roots in film and writing, Kendisan layers memory and movement into her abstract works, blending storytelling with visual rhythm.
Continuing the Journey
The exhibition continues with ongoing creative sessions available to in-house guests as part of their retreat experience. COMO Uma Ubud invites visitors to engage creativity as a path to stillness, reflection, and renewal.
