Experience the Quiet Magic of Nyepi with a Village Getaway at Andaz Bali
As Bali prepares for its sacred Day of Silence, Andaz Bali invites guests to experience Nyepi through cultural traditions, community moments, and tranquil reflection within its modern village inspired beachfront retreat in Sanur.

Each year, Bali pauses for one of its most meaningful traditions. Nyepi, the Balinese Day of Silence, marks the New Year in the Saka calendar and is observed across the island through reflection, prayer, and stillness. For 24 hours, the island falls quiet. The airport closes, streets empty, and lights dim as Bali embraces a collective moment of renewal.
On the evening before Nyepi, however, the island comes alive with the vibrant Ogoh Ogoh parade, where large symbolic effigies are carried through village streets in a ritual cleansing of negative energy before the new year begins.
At Andaz Bali, this cultural rhythm is embraced through a thoughtfully curated experience that allows guests to witness and reflect on the island’s traditions while enjoying the comfort of a contemporary beachfront retreat.
Located in Sanur, one of Bali’s most beloved coastal destinations, Andaz Bali has been designed as a modern interpretation of a traditional Balinese village. Pathways, communal spaces, and gathering areas mirror the layout of village life, creating an environment where connection and shared experiences unfold naturally.
This concept makes Nyepi particularly meaningful at the resort, where the spirit of the celebration aligns naturally with the property’s design and philosophy.
