Padma Resort Ubud Welcomes the Festive Season With a Thoughtfully Crafted Christmas Celebration

Nestled amid the tranquil bamboo forests of Payangan, Padma Resort Ubud officially ushered in the festive season with its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, a celebration that once again reflected the resort’s deep commitment to sustainability, creativity, and meaningful community engagement.

This year’s festive concept, titled Festive in Sphere, places sustainability at the center of celebration. Standing proudly at the Lobby Courtyard is a striking Christmas tree crafted entirely from 12,000 recycled plastic bottles. The installation is the result of months of collaboration and meticulous hand-assembly by the resort’s dedicated team, transforming everyday waste into a luminous holiday centerpiece that is both visually captivating and purpose-driven.

Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a giant Christmas Snowball installation in the lobby, thoughtfully constructed from eco-friendly and repurposed materials. This whimsical welcome sets the tone for a festive journey rooted in mindful celebration. Across the resort, holiday décor continues this ethos, with ornaments and large-scale installations handcrafted by the team using recycled, reusable, and repurposed elements. Beyond festive cheer, the initiative encourages guests of all ages to reflect on environmental responsibility in a warm and engaging way.

The ceremony itself unfolded in an atmosphere of togetherness and joy. A heartfelt performance by a children’s choir from Yayasan Widya Guna added emotional depth to the evening, filling the courtyard with the sounds of Christmas while highlighting the resort’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities and social causes.

As the countdown began, guests gathered to witness the illumination of the Christmas tree and surrounding decorations. Families, couples, and resort team members celebrated side by side, enjoying canapés, champagne, cocktails, and mocktails as gentle snowfall from the resort’s snow machine drifted through the air. This festive snowfall experience continues daily throughout the season at 6 PM and 9 PM, offering guests a moment of holiday magic each evening.

Throughout December, the festive installations remain on display, inviting guests to enjoy charming photo spots, seasonal entertainment, and curated dining experiences across the resort. Set against Ubud’s lush highland landscape, the celebration offers a festive escape that feels both joyful and consciously crafted.
