A limited time collaboration brings the vibrant flavors of Northern Thailand into Jakarta, blending heritage recipes with a refined dining experience.
In the heart of Jakarta’s Kuningan district, Gran Meliá Jakarta introduces a culinary experience that bridges destinations through flavor. From 20 to 25 April 2026, the hotel presents a Thai gastronomic showcase in collaboration with Meliá Chiang Mai, inviting guests to explore the richness of Thai cuisine through a curated dinner buffet at Café Gran Via.
The collaboration draws inspiration from the culinary traditions of Chiang Mai, known for its bold flavors, aromatic herbs, and careful balance of taste. Each dish reflects this identity while being refined through the lens of Gran Meliá Jakarta’s culinary team, resulting in a dining experience that feels both authentic and contemporary.
Among the highlights are well known Thai specialties, including Pad Thai, Soft Shell Crab with Pomelo Salad, and Steamed Mantou, each presented with attention to detail and depth of flavor. The experience extends beyond the plate with a selection of beverages that capture the spirit of Thailand, from refreshing Thai Milk Tea and fresh young coconut to more expressive creations such as the Meliá Chiang Mai Blossom mocktail, Muay Thai Punch, and Tom Yum Martini.
The collaboration reflects more than just a menu exchange. It brings together two culinary perspectives shaped by place and culture, creating a dialogue that allows guests to experience Thai cuisine in a new setting while staying true to its roots.
Following the initial showcase, the experience continues from 26 April to 20 May 2026, with selected signature dishes available as à la carte offerings across the hotel’s dining venues and through in room dining. This extension allows guests to revisit the flavors at a more relaxed pace, beyond the structured buffet setting.
Through this collaboration, Gran Meliá Jakarta reinforces its position as a destination for curated culinary experiences, where global influences are thoughtfully introduced and shaped into something memorable for the city.
