Mad Cow Wine & Grill: A Steakhouse with a View of Bandung
New York-style steaks, a Josper grill and a wine collection of more than 50 labels define this 17th-floor dining destination at Pullman Bandung Grand Central.
Bandung’s dining scene offers plenty of reasons to linger after dark, from its creative cafés to restaurants that make the most of the city’s elevated setting. At Mad Cow Wine & Grill, the experience centers on carefully prepared beef, a considered wine selection and an atmosphere that draws inspiration from another era.
Located on the 17th floor of Pullman Bandung Grand Central, the restaurant brings together New York-style steakhouse dining and a vintage-inspired interior. References to the Moulin Rouge and Bandung’s historic train station inform a design that evokes the character of the 1920s, creating a setting suited to both intimate dinners and evenings with friends.
At the heart of the kitchen is the Josper Basque Grill, a charcoal oven that combines traditional grilling techniques with intense heat. Rambutan wood or apple wood lends a distinctive smoky aroma to the meat, while the kitchen explores different preparations, from char-grilling and slow-cooking to satay-style dishes and cooking over an open flame.
The menu focuses on prime cuts of beef, with signature selections including Maddie’s Surf & Turf, Tomahawk of Australian Ribeye and Porterhouse of Australian Black Angus. Each offers a different way to experience the restaurant’s approach to steak, whether shared across the table or enjoyed as the centerpiece of a leisurely meal.
Wine is an equally important part of the experience. A curated collection of more than 50 wines provides a range of pairing possibilities, while the classic cocktail bar offers an alternative for guests who prefer to begin or end their evening with a mixed drink.
For those looking to extend the night, AKASA 360 Rooftop Bar offers a change of perspective with panoramic views of Bandung. Its beverage selection includes wines, international drinks, cocktails, mocktails, beers and Indonesian craft beers, making it a natural continuation of an evening at Mad Cow.
Together, the steakhouse and rooftop bar offer two complementary ways to experience Bandung after dark: one centered on the warmth of the grill and the ritual of a well-prepared meal, the other on the city skyline and a more relaxed rooftop atmosphere.
Mad Cow Wine & Grill is open Monday to Saturday, from 4:00 PM to 10:30 PM. AKASA 360 Rooftop Bar welcomes guests daily from 4:00 PM until midnight. Both venues are located at Pullman Bandung Grand Central, Jl. Diponegoro No. 27, Bandung.
