As an apex predator, the bird is an important indicator of forest health. Java’s remaining tropical forests sustain extraordinary biodiversity while also supporting people through clean water, climate resilience, and other essential ecosystem services. Yet the species continues to face pressure from habitat loss, forest fragmentation, illegal wildlife trade, and human disturbance.

By hosting the exhibition within active hospitality spaces, Padma Hotels is helping introduce thousands of guests and visitors to the story of the species. The partnership reflects a wider understanding of sustainability, one that extends beyond responsible hotel operations to include education, public engagement, and support for Indonesia’s biodiversity.

The exhibition opens at Padma Hotel Bandung from 28 July to 2 August 2026, continues at Padma Hotel Semarang from 4 to 9 August 2026, and concludes at Padma Resort Legian in Bali from 18 to 23 August 2026.

For Djarum Foundation, the collaboration forms part of a much longer environmental commitment. Through Bakti Lingkungan Djarum Foundation, its conservation work has included reforestation, mangrove preservation, rehabilitation of degraded land, organic-waste processing, and programs focused on endemic wildlife such as the Javan Leopard and Javan Hawk-Eagle.

The travelling exhibition ultimately turns a hotel visit into an opportunity for discovery.
