Mangkuluhur ARTOTEL Suites has opened SOMEWHERE, ELSEWHERE, an exhibition of works by Indonesian artist Puri Fidhini presented in collaboration with creative art studio EIARTI. On view from September 25, 2026, to January 17, 2027, the exhibition occupies ARTSPACE on the hotel’s lobby level and is open to hotel guests and other visitors.

The exhibition considers how places change in memory. Puri draws on travel and personal experience to create landscapes that sit between observation and imagination. Her 2019 artist residency in Reykjavík, followed by a return to Iceland in 2022, became a lasting source of imagery. Rather than reproducing particular views, she works from fragments of what she saw and remembered.

In her oil-on-canvas paintings, houses, mountains, and open spaces appear alongside chessboards, playing cards, dice, and game pieces. These objects suggest the choices, chance, and shifting sense of control that shape everyday life. Doors, windows, and walls add another layer, marking the space between what is visible and what remains out of sight.

Works in the exhibition include Fragmented Memories, Lost and Found in the Blue, A Scene from the Last Round, The Wake of a Giant, The Migration of The Whale, Echoes of Resilience, and Beneath Quiet Water. Together, they invite visitors to look at familiar forms as parts of places that could exist elsewhere.

Faisal Tranggono, General Manager of Mangkuluhur ARTOTEL Suites, said the hotel sees art as an integral part of the guest experience. Through ARTSPACE, it aims to connect local artists and their work with a wider public and continue hosting exhibitions.
