SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia has signed a Hotel Management Agreement with PT Nelayan Development SPV for SONO Felice Bali Canggu, a 90 room upper upscale lifestyle hotel scheduled to open in July 2028. The signing marks another important step in SONO’s growing presence in Indonesia, strengthening the group’s focus on high potential destinations across Southeast Asia.
Located on Jalan Nelayan, just minutes from Batu Bolong Beach, the hotel will sit in the heart of Canggu, one of Bali’s most energetic lifestyle destinations. Known for its surf culture, independent dining scene, creative communities, and global appeal, Canggu continues to evolve as a preferred destination for travellers seeking both connection and a sense of place.
SONO Felice Bali Canggu is envisioned as a modern residential hospitality hybrid, created for short term escapes as well as extended stays. The concept reflects the rising demand for flexible, design led accommodation, particularly among digital nomads, lifestyle travellers, and a new generation of guests who move fluidly between work, leisure, and discovery.
As a premium lifestyle brand, SONO Felice brings a residential style approach shaped by elegance, comfort, and a refined way of living. The project will feature four architecturally distinct buildings inspired by Water, Fire, Air, and Earth, giving the property a strong design identity rooted in elemental expression. According to Jihong An, Senior Vice President Asia of SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia, the expansion is grounded in long term fundamentals and strong destination potential. He noted that Canggu represents one of the region’s most compelling lifestyle markets, with the hotel designed to align product, location, and partner vision for sustainable performance.
Ahti Khiili, President Director of PT Nelayan Development SPV, also highlighted Canggu’s continued rise as one of Bali’s most desirable destinations, noting that SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia brings the right expertise to translate the location into a distinctive hospitality concept.
Evan Burns, Area Vice President Indonesia of SONO Hotels & Resorts Asia, added that the project is designed around the way people travel today, with a focus on flexibility, design, and a deeper connection to the destination while staying true to the energy of Canggu.
With its strategic location, lifestyle driven concept, and clear positioning, SONO Felice Bali Canggu is set to become a notable addition to Bali’s upper upscale hospitality landscape when it opens in July 2028.
