From Busan to Bali: Hansik Korean BBQ Brings the Soul of Korea to Andaz Bali

A heartfelt Korean BBQ experience in Sanur, led by Chef Min A and inspired by the flavors of her childhood in Busan.

Set within the lush gardens of Andaz Bali, Hansik Korean BBQ invites guests to discover an authentic taste of Korea in the heart of Sanur. Rooted in tradition and shaped with a modern touch, the dining experience brings together bold flavors, shared moments, and the warmth of Korean culinary culture.

Led by Chef Min A, Andaz Bali’s Korean chef who has been part of the resort for over two years, Hansik Korean BBQ reflects her passion for introducing the depth and character of Korean cuisine to a wider audience. Inspired by hansik, the traditional Korean way of eating, the experience celebrates balance, togetherness, and the joy of gathering around the table.

Located at Alun-Alun, Village Square, Hansik Korean BBQ offers a premium Korean BBQ experience where guests can enjoy a selection of meats and side dishes grilled directly at the table. The concept embraces the communal spirit of Korean dining, creating an interactive experience that feels both comforting and memorable.

First introduced in 2024, Hansik Korean BBQ began as a way to present the foundations of authentic Korean cuisine to guests of Andaz Bali. The early menu focused on classic dishes and traditional cooking methods, offering a simple yet meaningful introduction to Korean flavors. As the concept grew in popularity among guests and returning visitors, Chef Min A continued to evolve the menu into a more personal and contemporary expression of her culinary journey.

Today, the menu draws inspiration from Chef Min A’s childhood in Busan. One of the highlights is Dongnae Haemul Pajeon, a Busan style seafood pancake made with prawn, squid, scallion, egg, and chili. Inspired by the Dongnae district where the dish originates, this flavorful creation brings a sense of place and memory to the table while offering a refined interpretation for today’s diners.

At the center of the experience is the House Menu by Chef Min A, a curated selection featuring guest favorites from the past two years alongside dishes that best represent authentic Korean flavors. Chef Min A also introduces signature creations such as Kimchi Jeon, Chicken Pancake, King Prawn Tempura, and Black Pork Dumplings, each crafted to showcase the richness and versatility of Korean cuisine.

Through this evolving menu, Hansik Korean BBQ offers more than just a meal. It becomes a personal culinary story, one that allows guests to experience the flavors Chef Min A grew up with, reimagined within the serene setting of Andaz Bali.

Hansik Korean BBQ is available every Wednesday to Sunday from 6 PM at Alun-Alun, Village Square at Andaz Bali.
