Padma Hotels Marks Indonesia’s Independence Day with Pesta Rakyat 2026
Under the theme “Celebrate Generations Together,” Padma Hotels brings traditional Indonesian games, family connection and cultural celebration to five properties across the country.
This Independence Day, Padma Hotels invites families to reconnect through the joy of traditional Indonesian games with Pesta Rakyat 2026, its annual celebration held across Padma Resort Legian, Padma Resort Ubud, Padma Hotel Semarang, Padma Hotel Bandung and Resinda Hotel Karawang. This year’s edition carries the theme “Celebrate Generations Together,” placing intergenerational connection at the heart of the festivities.
Designed as a reminder to slow down and spend meaningful time together, Pesta Rakyat encourages grandparents, parents and children to participate side by side in familiar games that have long been part of Indonesia’s Independence Day traditions. The celebration transforms simple moments of play, laughter and friendly competition into shared memories across generations.
Each participating hotel presents its own programme, allowing the celebration to reflect the character of its destination while maintaining a shared focus on Indonesian heritage and community.
At Padma Resort Legian, families can revisit childhood favourites including the Marble-on-Spoon Race, Cracker Eating Competition, Finding Rubber Bands in Powder, Cardboard Tank Race and Hook the Head-Basket Competition. The programme is designed around light-hearted competition and family participation throughout the resort.
Surrounded by the lush landscapes of Payangan, Padma Resort Ubud presents a full day of Independence Day activities including Pencil & Bottle, Balloon Race, Eat the Cookie, Steal the Ball, Hold the Pole and Zigzag Walk. The programme brings together guests of different ages in a setting that combines traditional games with the resort’s natural surroundings.
Padma Hotel Semarang expands the festivities into a three-day programme featuring a broad line-up of activities such as Bottle Fishing, Fanning the Fish, Water Gun War, Pool Pillow Fight, Foot Cup Water Relay, Box Dance, Flour Face Challenge and Cracker Eating Competition, creating an energetic Independence Day weekend for families.
At Padma Hotel Bandung, the celebration highlights teamwork through familiar competitions including the Marble Race, Paper Cup Tower, Cracker Eating Contest and Pencil-in-a-Bottle Challenge, alongside additional games for adults and children.
Meanwhile, Resinda Hotel Karawang hosts a vibrant two-day celebration at Emerald Garden. Guests can take part in classic favourites such as Tug of War, Sack Race, Cracker Eating Competition, Wooden Clog Race and the Agile Eel Challenge, bringing a nostalgic sense of Independence Day celebration to the property.
Beyond the competitions themselves, Pesta Rakyat 2026 reflects Padma Hotels’ wider commitment to preserving Indonesian cultural heritage through guest experiences. By bringing together traditional games, family participation and hospitality, the event becomes an opportunity to honour familiar traditions while creating new memories for the next generation.
Pesta Rakyat 2026 is complimentary for all in-house guests, with detailed schedules and activity programmes available directly from each participating property.
