Row for R.O.L.E Returns with Purpose, Power, and a Growing Impact Across Bali

A 13-kilometer journey across Bali’s coastline becomes more than a race, it becomes a collective movement shaping futures

through education, empowerment, and opportunity.

There are moments in Bali where the ocean carries more than waves. On Saturday, 25 April 2026, it carried intention.

Returning for its fifth year, Row for R.O.L.E 5.0 brought together a community driven by something deeper than competition. Hosted collaboratively by Grand Hyatt Bali, Hyatt Regency Bali, and Andaz Bali, alongside the R.O.L.E Foundation, the annual event unfolded as a 13-kilometer canoe journey stretching from the shores of Sanur to Nusa Dua, connecting landscapes, people, and purpose in one continuous line.

Eighty-eight paddlers took part across single, double, and paddle board categories, moving in rhythm across the water, each stroke contributing to something larger. By the end of the day, the initiative had raised over IDR 846 million, reinforcing its place as one of Bali’s most meaningful community-driven movements.

At its core, Row for R.O.L.E has always carried a simple yet powerful philosophy, paddling with purpose. The initiative continues to support education, women’s empowerment, and environmental sustainability through the Bali WISE program by the R.O.L.E Foundation, a platform designed to open doors for young women across Indonesia who may otherwise never have access to them.

The impact is tangible. Selected participants are brought to Bali for six months of immersive training, where they are equipped not only with hospitality and tourism skills, but also with language, confidence, and independence. It is a transformation that extends beyond individuals, creating ripple effects within families and communities.

Over the past four years, the movement has raised more than IDR 4 billion, supporting nearly 400 young women in reshaping their futures with dignity and opportunity.

This year, the initiative expanded its reach through a curated online auction, offering a selection of experiences that reflect Bali at its best, from resort stays and dining moments to wellness journeys and island adventures. Each contribution, whether through participation or bidding, became part of a shared effort to create lasting change.

Now firmly established as an annual highlight, Row for R.O.L.E continues to reflect Hyatt’s broader commitment through its World of Care philosophy, where hospitality extends beyond service into meaningful action. It is a reminder that impact does not always come from grand gestures, but from consistent, collective effort.

And on this stretch of ocean, it is clear that every stroke forward carries a story worth telling.
