Wapa di Ume Sidemen Unveils The Wapa Lux Tent: A New Blend of Nature, Culture and Luxury Glamping

Embracing Wapa’s First Luxury Glamping Experience in Sidemen

Wapa di Ume Sidemen has introduced The Wapa Lux Tent, a collection of 17 conical tents bringing a new accommodation experience to the resort in East Bali. Now welcoming guests, the collection combines private outdoor spaces and contemporary comforts with architecture inspired by Bali’s agricultural heritage.

Set amid Sidemen’s rice fields and valleys, with Mount Agung as a backdrop and the Unda River nearby, the resort places guests close to the landscape and village life. The Wapa Lux Tent builds on this setting with a glamping concept that encourages time outdoors alongside opportunities to explore local culture.

The collection comprises Luxury Tents, Luxury Pool Tents and two Family Pool Tents. Selected units feature private pools and spacious outdoor areas, giving guests room to enjoy the surroundings within their own accommodation. A dedicated Glamping Lounge and Pool provides an additional space exclusively for guests of The Wapa Lux Tent.

Stay inclusions extend to all-day coffee and tea served with cookies, pre-dinner cocktails or wine, and semi-butler service. These additions bring the conveniences of a resort stay to the tented accommodation while allowing guests to spend time at their own pace.

Local architecture practice Nitkala Arsitek designed the tents, drawing on traditional Balinese structures, including the lumbung, or rice barn. Their conical silhouettes reinterpret these references through a contemporary design, while natural textures and earthy tones connect the interiors with the surrounding rice fields and tropical landscape.

Beyond the accommodation, guests can explore Sidemen through weaving classes, Balinese cooking lessons, village trekking and guided cultural experiences. These activities introduce the area’s craftsmanship, food traditions and daily life, with opportunities to learn about the communities that shape the destination. Yoga is also among the resort’s signature experiences.

The concept is guided by Tri Hita Karana, the Balinese philosophy of harmony between people, spirituality and nature. Its three principles encompass Pawongan, relationships between people; Parahyangan, relationships between people and God; and Palemahan, relationships between people and the natural environment.

Wayan Pasek, the owner of Wapa di Ume who is also known as Mr. Wapa, describes this philosophy as the foundation of the brand’s hospitality. He says The Wapa Lux Tent aims to combine comfort with respect for local culture and the environment, giving guests opportunities to experience Bali while supporting the resort’s commitment to sustainable tourism practices.

With its tented accommodation, dedicated guest facilities and cultural activities, The Wapa Lux Tent offers a new base for exploring Sidemen. The emphasis remains on the setting itself, with private spaces for rest and experiences that bring guests closer to East Bali’s landscape and traditions.
