Grand Hyatt Tokyo Brings Dining, Design and Urban Energy Together in Roppongi
Set within the landmark Roppongi Hills development, Grand Hyatt Tokyo combines contemporary Japanese-inspired accommodation, an ambitious culinary collection and extensive wellness facilities in one of the capital’s most connected lifestyle districts.
In a city defined by contrasting neighbourhoods, Grand Hyatt Tokyo occupies a particularly strategic position. The hotel is directly connected to Roppongi Hills, the large-scale cultural and lifestyle development encompassing luxury retail, restaurants, a cinema, the Mori Art Museum and Tokyo City View, an observation facility overlooking the capital from the Mori Tower. Roppongi Station is within walking distance, while Tokyo Station can be reached in approximately 30 minutes by public transport.
Rather than presenting itself solely as a place to stay, Grand Hyatt Tokyo operates as a complete urban destination. The property houses 387 contemporary rooms, including 28 suites, with interiors shaped by clean architectural lines, warm mahogany furnishings and subtle references to Japanese aesthetics. Spacious bathrooms and beds dressed in Egyptian cotton reinforce the property’s emphasis on comfort without sacrificing its restrained, cosmopolitan character.
Accommodation ranges from king and twin guestrooms to city-view, deluxe and club-level categories. The suite collection includes Grand, Executive, Diplomat, Chairman, Family, Ambassador and Presidential suites, allowing the hotel to accommodate business travellers, couples, families and longer-stay guests requiring greater privacy and residential space.
A Dining Destination in Its Own Right
Food and beverage form one of the property’s strongest identities. Grand Hyatt Tokyo presents ten restaurant and bar concepts, covering Japanese, French, Italian and Chinese cuisine, alongside a steakhouse, pastry boutique and live-music lounge. Several venues include terraces, open kitchens or private dining spaces, creating experiences that extend beyond the conventional hotel restaurant format.
The Oak Door is the hotel’s signature steakhouse, recognised for premium meats, seasonal produce and its open- kitchen energy. Its menu includes substantial steakhouse dishes such as tomahawk steak and the restaurant’s signature burger, accompanied by a New World-focused wine selection. The dining room is complemented by booth seating, an outdoor terrace, a lively bar and a private room. The Oak Door also received a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2025.
The French Kitchen functions as the property’s principal all-day restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and French bistro-style dinners. Classic dishes include pate de campagne, sole Grenobloise and boeuf bourguignon. An open kitchen, outdoor terrace and a private Chef’s Table with its own kitchen make the restaurant suitable for everything from casual dining to private celebrations.
Japanese dining is represented through several distinct traditions. Roku Roku specialises in Edo-mae sushi and sashimi, prepared using seafood sourced each morning from markets across Japan, with sake selections curated from boutique producers. Shunbou focuses on kappo-style Japanese cuisine and seasonal kaiseki, served within a dining room incorporating Japanese Aji stone and several ryotei-style private rooms.
At Keyakizaka, chefs prepare seasonal meat, seafood, poultry and vegetables on the teppan, incorporating both Japanese techniques and international influences. Chinaroom serves regional Chinese cuisine through a la carte dishes, seasonal menus and a lunch experience featuring unlimited dim sum served at the table.
Fiorentina brings a more relaxed rhythm to the lobby level. The Italian cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with antipasti, pizzas, pasta and seasonal main courses. Its terrace opens towards Keyakizaka Street, placing guests close to the boutiques and street life of Roppongi Hills. Nearby, Fiorentina Pastry Boutique offers cakes, pastries, chocolates and seasonal creations for takeaway.
After dark, Maduro Bar and Jazz Lounge provides a more intimate setting for cocktails, cigars and live music. Together with The Oak Door Bar and The French Kitchen Bar, it helps position the hotel as a social address for Tokyo residents as much as an amenity for staying guests.
A 1,300-Square-Metre Wellness Retreat
On the fifth floor, Nagomi Spa and Fitness provides a substantial counterpoint to the pace of Roppongi. Spanning more than 1,300 square metres, the wellness centre contains eight treatment rooms, including three with private showers and a suite for two fitted with a Japanese granite soaking tub and steam shower.
Its hydrotherapy facilities include a sauna, steam room, hot bath and cold plunge pools. A natural red-granite indoor swimming pool measures 20 metres by seven metres and is surrounded by a hardwood deck, while an illuminated whirlpool is finished with Italian-made platinum tiles.
The spa’s treatments encompass body therapies, facials and beauty services, and selected day-spa experiences are available to visitors who are not staying at the hotel. Day-spa guests receiving eligible treatments may also access the bathing facilities for a limited period before and after their appointment.
The gym is equipped with Technogym cardio and strength-training equipment and remains open 24 hours for resident guests. The pool and spa facilities operate daily, giving both leisure and business travellers the flexibility to incorporate exercise or recovery into their stay.

Forbes Travel Guide characterises the property through its contemporary minimalist design, strong culinary programme and connection to the wider Roppongi Hills cultural district. Its combination of location, accommodation, restaurants, wellness and event capabilities explains its relevance to several different audiences: international business travellers, Tokyo weekenders, food-focused visitors and guests seeking direct access to the city’s retail, art and nightlife.
